WEINGUT KELLER, WESTHOFEN MORSTEIN, RHEINHESSEN, GG, 2008

For me this is what German dry wines are about! I think this is the most mineral wine from Keller – as JR wrote with the 2007 wine which again is true for this year completely complementary to “Von der Fels” – this is a “A thinking wine not at drinking wine”. This year there will be even smaller amount because there is just so large difference between the old and oldest vines that Klaus Peter decided to take the youngest of the oldest vines out of the GG – I think this results in a much more focused mineral wine exposed wine (especially as it is also combined with a lazer acid). In the noise a bit reserve with seductive yellow citric, minty herbalness smoky and mineral tones. Really as the earlier year extremely focused with and mandarin and yellow citrus fruit (and traces of orange fruit) combined with hurting mineral, metallic and smoky tones. I get the goose bumps when it comes into my mouth because of the limestone minerality and the extremely sharp acidity that immediately starts a neural network in my brain that takes me to another world.
20/20
