I simply had a lot of doubts about this wine after hard critics in Gault Millau (88 point) and the same story from a friend… I always have high expectation to this wine, and fortunately in my mind it lived up to my expectation. Again this year Breuer impressed me with their top cuvee from one of my of favorite parcels in Rheingau. This wine is for me a perfect finger print of Breuers style.
Fantastic for a Riesling Junkie like me….. The noise is a little reserved I think showing weak tones of lime and yellow citrus fruit combined with a minty smoky mineral tone underneath.
When it touches my tongue I fell Breuers magic touch and really uncompromising style. In the primary impression it shows a reserve almost fragile and brittleness like a skinny slim ballerina but still so intensive and strenuous that persuades and drags me in to a schloßberg dramatic and magic univers…. Lime and yellow citrus fruit combined with intensive pectin bitterness and supported by a crunchy minerality. However the long finish is dramatic with a lazer precise sharp juicy acidity combined with a the almost burning and hurting minerality that flesh my skin in my mouth and throat… a perfect fix for a riesling junkie like me…
This wine has so big potential!
